Hiii, im still fairly new to tumblr and I was wondering how do you get the pretty text colors in your blogs? Are they images or are you changing the color of your text?

no, it’s not a weird question at all! i‘ll give you a guide.

✿⠀all about coding

for the colour in my texts i use html coding and hex codes.

to simplify this, html is used to design or structure your texts (you know, the size, the colour, if it’s italic or bold,…) the hex code then determines the colour you choose for your text.

unfortunately, you cannot edit your texts' colours on your phone but make sure to do it on your laptop/computer.

✿⠀in steps

example · let’s say i want to edit my post and want the header to say "hello!" in a pinky shade (let’s use the hex code #c98ba3). this is what i would do ...

go on the tumblr website on my laptop

click create

choose text

click on the gear icon on the upper right corner

scroll to text editor and select HTML

click anywhere on the screen to make that page disappear and return to my post

switch from preview to HTML

type in the code <p><span style="color: #c98ba3">hello!</span></p> in the second row, not where it says "title"

switch back to preview and boom! now my text that says "hello!" is pink :)

if you are looking for colours to use and their associated hex code, just know that google's "colour picker" shows up once you look for a hex colour picker.

Look when blorbos live rent free in my head they get cast in whatever movies I feel like watching. Like Singin' in the Rain. And the only reason I even rewatched Singin' in the Rain was because someone suggested the Emotes for Survivor Jayce and Savior Viktor's new League Skins were references to that movie (Jayce's does look like the scene where they tip the couch over combined with Gene Kelly dancing on the Lamp Post, and at the end of the move the men do pretend to conduct Lina before revealing the farce during the ending so I GUESS that's kind of what Viktor's Savoir skin is referencing?) Idk. I just know someone suggested it so I rewatched the movie. Anyway, how many Hextech Partners does it take to screw in a lightbulb?  Two, but they get distracted by an idea and then Skye has to do it for them after they work in the dark for like a week.  (Was it only me who noticed their only source of light when they present their Portable Hextech to Heimerdinger is the giant window and like. Nothing else?)

a few people have asked to see the full text for aromanticism which i would love to provide in a nice beautiful format where it all looks how it does when you play it. however the insides of it look like this!

and that is 6161 words across 93 passages and i am just not willing to go in there and copy/paste or screenshot them all one by one. so! what i do have is like. almost the raw data, just all of the text of it; not organized by anything and it's got all the command language in there, but it is searchable and you'll be able to follow the little titles through it if you'd like. linking that for you here on my little webbed site in case that satisfies anyone's needs <3 you just have to promise not to judge while you're looking at the guts of it i was learning to use twine as i made this and it is not as gorgeous beautiful when you're not looking at it through the reader interface haha <3

hello i’m not sure if you take fic requests (if not, ignore this), i am pretty new to your page but i’ve been reading your fanfics only for the past month and i can’t seem to stop. so i’m here asking you if you could write anything izuru centered ? or if not centered around him i would be perfectly happy reading something even remotely connected to him. i really liked the restaurant review stories with rose since he’s even less popular than izuru… i also love him, renji and momo written together. if you ever think about him please do not keep it to yourself and share it with us, i’d love to read your thoughts! but really anything is fine, i’d just like to read more about izuru

So for the record (mostly to keep other people from asking), I am not doing requests right now, but when I got this, it occurred to me that I write about Kira all the time, but always as a supporting character. I should write a story about Kira, I told myself, he deserves it for all the time I have forced him to be a bystander to Renji's terrible lovelife.

Of course, ten minutes into brainstorming, I remembered why I don't write Kira stories, which is that I like him, but I don't like any of the things that happen to him. I do not want to write about Gin. I do not want to write about The Hole. Normally, I would just write (yet another) Academy story, but I have an Academy thing I noodle around on sometimes and if I had any story ideas, I'd rather use them there. I went through most of the Kira tag on ao3 for inspiration and mostly what I got out of that is that people sure love to ship him, which just made me feel like Kira deserved a story that was about him.

Anyway, then I remembered that I am very interested in Kira's time at Squad 4, even though (perhaps because?) we know almost nothing about it. So, here you go. Of course, Renji is in it, too, because what am supposed to do, write something without Renji in it?

How to rewrite a fic

Step one: Decide that your writing has improved drastically since you first started the fic and you need to rewrite everything if you want to continue.

Step two: Make notes of the existing storyline and characters to create a bare bones outline and keep track of where the story was originally heading.

Step three: Decide to date the fic to 2008 and start feverishly researching message boards, blogs, and other forms of social media at the time because the fic you chose to rewrite is only told through media outlets and wasn't that sooooo smart and totally not limiting to the story at all

Step four: Start learning HTML apparently because Ao3 lets you do cool shit and if your fic is supposed to have a 2008 message board then by god it's going to look like a 2008 message board.

Step five: die I guess?

I’ve made some edits to my AU master doc that don’t warrant their own posts, but that I want to share anyway. So here’s the patch notes:

In kaldorei culture, it’s customary to bring small amounts of food and/or alcohol when visiting someone else’s home. This custom also happens to be shared with the pandaren and tauren.

The kaldorei have domesticated goats derived from mountain goats of northern and central Kalimdor, and a small species of deer, which provide both meat and milk.

Added a note in the War of Thorns recap that I’m still working out the finer details of why and how Teldrassil happened.

Kaldorei music includes but is not limited to (in broad terms) drums, pipes, flutes, their own varieties of lutes, and sometimes an instrument made of a large, hollow tree branch akin to a didgeridoo/yidaki.

The kaldorei use a lunisolar calendar with twelve months of twenty-eight days each, following the phases of Elune while also tracking the seasons. The new year starts in spring. Leap years occur every two or three years and add a thirteenth month. (This is inspired by the Chinese and Ojibwe calendars)

((To make things easier for myself I'm just going to make Azeroth orbit its sun and rotate at the exact same rate as Earth, and make the timing of Elune's phases occur at the same rate as our moon's. The Blue Child remains unaccounted for, for now.))

I also added sections on Pandaria, the pandaren, and their language. They're pretty short at the moment but for Pandaren the language, I've added:

Some argue the Wandering Isle dialect should be considered its own language, as the isolation from the mainland has led to so much divergence in both the spoken and written language that complex mainlander/islander conversations can be outright impossible.

Pidgins of a sort are extremely common among traders and other travelers such as Lorewalkers and the shado-pan.

Working on my javascript for my web page. Turns out I have the perfect kind of setup to accomplish some of the project requirements, specifically with even handlers and user interactions

My website, conceptually, will load a different employee details page depending on what employee name is clicked on. But I need to load it dynamically (instead of hard-coding it) so that the user can add or delete employees & it'll be able to still load the relevant shit.

So! Only one employee details page, but depending on how it's loaded, it'll load a different employee's information. Still working on getting down Exactly how to do it (I'm thinking using URL parameters that'll read a different object depending on what ID is used)

It's entirely doable. In fact, it's probably extremely common to do in web pages. No one wants to hard-code information for every new object. Of course not. And thus the usefulness of dynamic javascript stuff.

I can do this. I can very much do this.
